Isobel Ralph has been singing since she was three years old and writing songs since she was ten. Throughout her high school career at Earl Marriott Secondary, she was known as 'that kid' who would sit in the halls, play her guitar and sing for anyone who would listen. She performed at school talent shows and today can often be found sitting in at various open mics in South Surrey and White Rock sharing her original music. In September 2015, she got a fateful call asking if she could fill in for Max, Rhett and Jack's singer at a gig - and the rest is history.
Isobel is The Escapes' lead singer and main songwriter, whose thoughtful lyrics resonate with both the band and it's audiences. She is a gifted songwriter and most recently she has been sharing her co-writing talents with Jesse Burch of Rollin' Train Wreck. We say Isobel has grit and can be counted on to always have a smile on her face and a painfully clever pun to deliver.
She loves her Starbucks, yells whenever she sees a dog on the street and tends to dramatically stare out the windows on public transit during her long haul to UBC where she studies Psychology. She loves expanding her musical taste but some of her main influences would include include Sheryl Crow, Feist, U2, Paramore, Bon Iver, Indigo Girls, Amy Winehouse, John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, The 1975 and Fleetwood Mac.
